ISO 9001 Quality Objectives 2024/5​

We have set Quality Objectives for 2024/5. Below are the key areas that we are focusing on in order to demonstrate our commitment to quality.

  • Demonstrating compliance with our Quality Policies and Processes by achieving successful accreditation in 2025.

  • Responding to 100% of non-conformances within customer time-scales, identifying root causes and implementing change for continuous improvement where appropriate.

  • Invest in training and development to provide a positive career path for staff and improve recruitment and retention to maintain a retention rate of greater than 90%.

  • Internal audit of top 5 commissions by value at least once every quarter through 2024/5.

ISO 14001 Environmental Objectives 2024/5

We have set Environmental Objectives for 2024/5. Below are the key areas that we are focusing on in order to demonstrate our commitment to the environment

  • Demonstrating compliance with our Environmental Policies and Processes by achieving successful accreditation in 2025.

  • Deliver carbon reduction for RFLG sites and system partners by actively promoting options which comply with the NHS Net Zero Building Standard to support the development of sustainable, resilient, and energy efficient buildings that meet the needs of patients now and in the future (targets achieving a net zero health service for direct emissions by 2040 and indirect emissions by 2045) by:-

  • Supporting the reduction of trust carbon emissions from energy consumption by 53% by 2025 (from the 2014/15 baseline)

  • Supporting the reduction of fossil fuel use on our trust estates over the next 5 years, with the long term goal of phasing out their use before 2040 (from the 2014/15 baseline)
  • Support controlling trust water consumption to 1.2m3/m2 and remain within the lower quartile of the trust peers
  • Support the reduction of carbon emissions from waste by 50% by 2027 through RFL waste management achieving a waste segregation target of 20:20:60 HTI:AT:OW (baseline 2021/22)
  • Support a cut in trust patient transport service emissions of 10% by 2025 to improve local air quality (baseline year 2022/23)

  • Enhance Construction Waste Management Oversight - by improving the supervision and auditing of main contractors' waste management practices on capital projects to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and best practices by conducting internal audits 3 times during the course of each project at RIBA Task audit gates (at RIBA 3,5,6) throughout 2024/5.

  • Prevent Pollution of Water Courses - Strengthen monitoring and compliance measures to prevent inappropriate disposal of waste into site drainage systems by ensuring design team & contractor are aware of specialist water pollution processes within the managing entity.
